Why do you collect movie novelizations and how did you get into it?

Initially we began collecting movie novelizations in the 80s as a way of revisiting a film that we didn’t have access to. (If you’re an 80s kid like us, you might remember how difficult it was to get a hold of your favorite films before you could stream practically anything from the internet.) At the time, owning movies on VHS was expensive. A cheaper option was picking up the movie version of the book (Scholastic book fairs, anyone?). These days, aside from novelizations being fun collectibles for our favorite movies, it’s interesting to dig through our collection and find movie novelizations that offer deleted scenes and other material not found in the original films.
